Forest School: Summer Update
This summer will see the weekly Wednesday afternoon sessions continue with small groups learning new skills such as coppicing, whittling, wattling and fire-making. The outcome will be making a wooden mallet, which will be used in future sessions. Below, you can see the Year 5 Wilderness Wars den building hook and some of the Boggits or tree spirits made by children from each class. Boggits or tree spirits are malevolent, solitary spirits, which are known for being mischievous... Each child in the school has now had at least one outdoor session with the opportunity to use their creativity to work with clay as they gather the natural resources from the woodland floor to create their very own spirit...
